Community Community

Grant applications from non-profit organizations in our community are solicited each year by the Civic Involvement Committee. Applicants are screened using on-site visits by members of the committee, followed by thorough presentations to the entire committee by each agency. Each year volunteers spend more than 1500 hours researching agencies applying for grants. Grants are awarded each year to successful agency applicants at our annual Briefcase Breakfast.

2008 Grant Recipients

Fun Time Academy Receives Emergency Grant
The $1500 emergency donation to the Fun Time Early Childhood Academy after Hurricane Wilma was used to purchase soft furnishings and allowed them to regain state compliance more quickly than they might have. The furniture, featured in the picture, is enjoyed by all the children. Fun Time appreciates our support of their mission to provide affordable childcare for working poor families and to prepare children for a successful entry into school.
